BGP Request Form - Introduction

How the BGP request process works

In order to complete the BGP Request Form, you must supply your Megapath Customer Number and Billcode. If you do not have these numbers or if you have not yet ordered BGP service, please contact your Sales Representative. Please do not call the NOC. The Megapath Engineering department is not permitted to provide this information to you.

Please fill out this form completely and accurately. Once completed, this form will automatically be submitted to Megapath's Engineering department for processing. A Megapath Engineer will then contact you within 2 business days to schedule your BGP turn-up. Note, BGP can only be turned up once your circuit from Megapath is active.

How BGP works at Megapath

Megapath builds BGP configurations directly from a Route Registry database. It is the responsibility of the BGP customer to populate this database with accurate and complete routing information. The database is an industry standard IRRd database written and maintained by Merit Networks, Inc. It is the same platform as the RADB.

All necessary database objects are automatically created during the BGP request process. However, once BGP is activated, any future configuration changes must be made through the Route Registry.
